Regular Season Round 9: Betaland Cdo - Openjobmetis V. 76-71

Very predictable result in Capo d'Orlando where seventh ranked Betaland Cdo (5-4) defeated 13th ranked Openjobmetis VA (3-6) 76-71 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Openjobmetis VA won fourth quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Serbian guard Milenko Tepic (202-87, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Betaland Cdo players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Eric Maynor (191-87, college: VCU) with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and DR Congolese Christian Eyenga (201-89) scored 19 points. Betaland Cdo moved-up to sixth place. Loser Openjobmetis VA dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Betaland Cdo will face league's second-placed Grissin Bon RE in Reggio Emilia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Openjobmetis VA will play at home against AV Cantu (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
