Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked Senigallia (4-4) defeated at home 13th ranked Taranto (3-6) 77-71 on Sunday. Senigallia forced 21 Taranto turnovers. It was a good game for guard Andrea Maggiotto (194-88) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Fabio Giampieri (190-93) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Roberto Chiacig (210-74, agency: SPORTlab Agency) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Alessandro Azzaro (197-93) added 20 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Taranto. Senigallia moved-up to eighth place in B. Loser Taranto dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Senigallia will face higher ranked Porto S.Elpidio (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Taranto will play against Pescara (#4) and hope to win that game.
