Regular Season Round 9: Agrigento - Rieti 81-67

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Rieti (4-5) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Agrigento (4-5) 81-67 on Sunday. Center Quirino De Laurentiis (206-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Marco Evangelisti (198-84) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Four Agrigento players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian point guard Marcos Casini (188-80) scored 11 points. Agrigento moved-up to ninth place in A2. Agrigento will face higher ranked Legnano (#3) in Castellanza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rieti will play at home against Novipiu Casale (#14) and hope to win that game.
