Regular Season Round 9: MIA-RO Cantu - Fiat TO 77-89

Rather expected game when 14th ranked AV Cantu (2-7) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Auxilium TO (4-5) 89-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Auxilium TO. AV Cantu was better in fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding AV Cantu to just 7 points in second quarter. Auxilium TO made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. AV Cantu was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. D.J. White (206-86, college: Indiana) stepped up and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) chipped in 22 points. Auxilium TO's coach Francesco Vitucci used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was point guard Dominic Waters (185-86, college: Portland St., agency: Octagon Europe) with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and swingman Tremmell Darden (194-81, college: Niagara) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Auxilium TO and five AV Cantu players scored in double figures. Auxilium TO moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. AV Cantu lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Auxilium TO will face The Flexx PT (#12) in Pistoia in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. AV Cantu will play on the road against Openjobmetis VA in Varese and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
