Regular Season Round 8: Lyon - Nantes 66-68

The biggest surprise of round 8 in LFB was guest Nantes Reze's (4-4) road victory over 7th ranked Lyon (3-5) 68-66 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 19-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. American-Armenian swingman Quianna Chaney (180-86, college: LSU, agency: Two Points) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American-Dominican Carmen Guzman (172-85, college: UAB) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Lyon players scored in double figures. Nantes Reze moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mondeville and Villeneuve. Lyon at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Nice. Nantes Reze is looking forward to face league's leader Bourges on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lyon will play against Nice (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
