Regular Season Round 11: Catz - Huima 102-82

Date: November 30, 2016
The game in Lappeenranta supposed to be also quite interesting. 5th ranked Aanekosken (5-6) played at the court of seventh ranked Catz Lappeenranta (5-6). Catz Lappeenranta did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 102-82 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aanekosken. The game was mostly controlled by Catz Lappeenranta. Aanekosken managed to win fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Catz Lappeenranta looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Samarie Walker (185-92, college: Kentucky, agency: Two Points) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Catz Lappeenranta's coach Mika Haakana used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Faith Randolph (178, college: Virginia) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import center Kenya Robinson (183-70, college: New Orleans) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Aanekosken. Catz Lappeenranta will meet ViVe (#5) in the next round. Aanekosken will have a break next round.
