Regular Season Round 11: Olimpic - CSU Sibiu 79-106

11th ranked Olimpic (1-9) was outscored at home by third ranked CSU Sibiu (7-3) with the biggest margin this round 106-79 on Friday night. The game without a history. CSU Sibiu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpic's 32. They outrebounded Olimpic 36-19 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for CSU Sibiu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) who scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import power forward Chris Cooper (205-90, college: ODU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Serbian power forward Milos Macura (211-90, college: Trevecca Naz., agency: Promotex) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian guard Luka Pajkovic (190-92, college: Morehead St., agency: Alti Sport) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Five CSU Sibiu and four Olimpic players scored in double figures. Olimpic's coach Sladjan Ivic gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for CSU Sibiu. They maintain third place with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader UBT Cluj Napoca. Olimpic lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. CSU Sibiu will meet Craiova (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Olimpic will play against the league's second-placed Steaua CSM in Bucuresti and hope to win that game.
