Regular Season Round 17: Telsiai - Perlas-MRU 72-69

The most exciting game of round 17 in the NKL took place in Telsiu. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Perlas-MRU (11-7) to fifth ranked Telsiai (11-5) 72-69 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Perlas-MRU. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 29-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Ovidijus Kaminskis (195-91) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and forward Audrius Maneikis (203-84, college: Motlow St. CC) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Telsiai players scored in double figures. Forward Domantas Pipiras (203-91) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Margiris Normantas (193-96) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Telsiai moved-up to fourth place. Perlas-MRU at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Telsiai are looking forward to face Silute (#6) on the road in the next round. Perlas-MRU will play against Petrochema and is hoping to win this game.
