Regular Season Round 8: Charleville - Vichy Clermont 94-80

Date: December 2, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked JA Vichy (4-4) lost on the road to fourth ranked Charleville-Mezieres (6-2) 94-80. The game was mostly controlled by Charleville-Mezieres. JA Vichy was better in second period 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Charleville-Mezieres had a 36-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by JA Vichy helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson (190-94, college: LIU Brooklyn) who scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Jordan Fouse (201-94, college: Green Bay, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Charleville-Mezieres' coach Cedric Heitz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Jarryd Cole (200-88, college: Iowa) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American-Ivorian swingman Derrick Byars (201-84, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Inception Sports) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Charleville-Mezieres moved-up to second place. JA Vichy at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Charleville-Mezieres' next round opponent will be STB Le Havre (#9) on the road and are hoping to win another game. JA Vichy will play against Saint Chamond and hope to win that game.
