Regular Season Round 14: Lourdes - Angers BC 92-77

There was an upset when higher ranked Angers BC (7-7) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (6-8) 92-77 on Friday. The game without a history. Lourdes-Tarbes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lourdes-Tarbes outrebounded Angers BC 37-22 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Ludovic Vaty (206-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). The former international point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83) chipped in 16 points and 7 assists. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach Alex Casimiri used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Lithuanian forward Rokas Uzas (202-88) produced 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Hugo Suhard (184-92) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Five Lourdes-Tarbes and four Angers BC players scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Lorient. Loser Angers BC dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes will face Lorient (#13) on the road in the next round.
