Everything could happen in Santoago de Comp at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Blusens Monbus and 16th ranked Joventut had identical 3-7 record. This time Blusens Monbus used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Badalona 80-67 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Blusens Monbus. Joventut was better in second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Blusens Monbus won last quarter 23-12. Blusens Monbus outrebounded Joventut 34-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Lithuanian swingman Deividas Dulkys (195-88, college: Florida St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 4 assists. Lithuanian forward Eimantas Bendzius (204-90) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Blusens Monbus players scored in double figures. Point guard Albert Sabat (181-85) answered with 16 points and international swingman Alberto Abalde (202-95) added 12 points in the effort for Joventut. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Blusens Monbus (4-7) moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Joventut dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Blusens Monbus will have a break next round. Joventut will play at home against Sevilla (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
