Regular Season Round 18: KTU - Palanga 73-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Palanga's (6-11) road loss to ninth ranked KTU (9-9) 65-73 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Palanga won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KTU forced 26 Palanga turnovers. The best player for the winners was Matas Staniukaitis (192-93) who scored 17 points and 5 assists. Point guard Arturs Pelss (181-87) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. KTU's coach Vytautas Pliauga let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Kadeem Green (206, college: Ryerson, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and Antanas Montrimavicius (199-87) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KTU moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Vytis. Palanga lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. KTU will face Delikatesas (#11) in Joniskis in the next round. Palanga will play at home against Vytis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
