Regular Season Round 11: Bad Aibling - Donau-Ries 87-58

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Fireballs (3-8) outplayed bottom-ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (3-8) in Bad Aibling 87-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Fireballs led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Fireballs forced 22 TH Wohnbau Angels turnovers. American point guard Angela Pace (178-87, college: Robert Morris) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Power forward Jessica Hootmann (190-85) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Fireballs players scored in double figures. Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Canadian swingman Erin Chambers (185-93, college: Simon Fraser) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for TH Wohnbau Angels. TH Wohnbau Angels' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Fireballs moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Donau-Ries and BG 89 Avides. Fireballs will face Rotenburg/Scheessel (#11) at home in the next round. TH Wohnbau Angels will play against SV Halle Lions and hope to win that game.
