Regular Season Round 11: Gandia - Agustinos-Leclerc 63-67

No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Agustinos-Leclerc (5-6) defeated on the road 14th ranked Gandia (3-8) 67-63. It looked good early as Gandia took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Agustinos-Leclerc took control getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Jose Medina (185-93) who led the winners and scored 27 points. American-Nigerian Bryant Mbamalu (191-91, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Duran International) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. Guinean forward Cheick Sekou Conde (203-92) came up with 8 points and 14 rebounds and Montenegrin forward Vladimir Tomasevic (201-92) added 12 points respectively for Gandia in the defeat. Gandia's coach Victor Rubio tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Agustinos-Leclerc have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Navarra and Moron. Gandia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Agustinos-Leclerc's next round opponent will be CB Tarragona 2017 (#14) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Gandia will play against Zamorano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
