Regular Season Round 11: Valladolid - Sammic ISB 68-57

The biggest surprise took place in Valladolid where host Blancos de Rueda (6-5) beat league's leader Sammic ISB (7-4) 68-57 on Saturday evening. Sammic ISB was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was center Sergio De La Fuente (198-89) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Henri Wade-Chatman (188-92, college: Edinboro) chipped in 17 points. New Zealand center Mike Karena (208-93, college: Wright St.) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and Canadian guard Joe De Ciman (198-94, college: Colorado St.) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Sammic ISB's coach Iker Bueno rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Blancos de Rueda moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Alcazar and Zornotza. Sammic ISB at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Lucentum and Cambados. They were replaced at the leadership position by Granada. Sammic ISB will play next round against L'Hospitalet trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Blancos de Rueda will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Albacete on the road.
