Regular Season Round 8: Beroe - Akademik PL 82-75

An interesting game for Beroe (5-2) which hosted in Stara Zagora one of their biggest challengers Academik Plovdiv (4-3). Second ranked Beroe managed to get a 7-point victory 82-75. Beroe forced 22 Academik Plovdiv turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Aaron Jones (206-93, college: Mississippi, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Shane Gibson (188-90, college: Sacred Heart) who added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Beroe's coach Ljubomir Minchev allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Oscar Bellfield (187-90, college: UNLV) responded with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and French-American forward Jordan Semple (201-92, college: Chico St.) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Academik Plovdiv players scored in double figures. Beroe maintains second position with 5-2 record having just three points less than leader Lukoil Acad. Academik Plovdiv at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Rilski. Beroe will play against Balkan (#7) in Botevgrad in the next round where they are favorite. Academik Plovdiv will play at home against Rilski (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
