Regular Season Round 13: Gornik Walbrzych - Stal II Ostrow 75-51

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Walbrzych. Second ranked Gornik faced 3rd placed Stal II Ostrow. Host Gornik (11-1) smashed guests from Ostrow (8-4) 75-51. Gornik outrebounded Stal II Ostrow 39-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Michal Kozak (179-92) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Marcin Wrobel (200-87) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Gornik players scored in double figures. Center Wojciech Zurawski (202-76) produced 19 points and power forward Lukasz Olejnik (203-79) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Stal II Ostrow's coach Mikolaj Czaja gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Gornik. They maintain second place in Group D with 11-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader AZS PK. Newly promoted Stal II Ostrow keeps the third position with four games lost. Gornik will face Rawia (#5) in Rawicz in the next round. Stal II Ostrow will play on the road against WKK Wroclaw and hope to win that game.
