Regular Season Round 11: Vigo VGO - Ponferrada CDP 68-87

Very expected game when 13th ranked Vigo VGO (1-8) was crushed at home by seventh ranked Ponferrada CDP (6-3) 87-68 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-68. Strangely Vigo VGO outrebounded Ponferrada CDP 50-36 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points. Dominican guard Yohansy Minaya (185-91) helped adding 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Ponferrada CDP players scored in double figures. American Johnathan Murphy (199-89, college: Columbus St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Lucas Vaquero (185-89) scored 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ponferrada CDP moved-up to third place in Group A-B, which they share with 3 other teams. Vigo VGO at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost.
