Regular Season Round 10: Ensino - Sant Adria 44-60

Not a big story in a game in Lugo where 10th ranked Maquinaria Ensino (3-7) was defeated by third ranked Sant Adria (8-2) 60-44 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sant Adria. Maquinaria Ensino was better in fourth quarter 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Maquinaria Ensino to just 4 points in third quarter. Sant Adria forced 29 Maquinaria Ensino turnovers. Strangely Maquinaria Ensino outrebounded Sant Adria 43-27 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Mireia Vila (183-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Laura Pena chipped in 6 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Sant Adria's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Raquel Asensio (178-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and center Paula Valino (188-99) scored 4 points and 9 rebounds. Sant Adria have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Maquinaria Ensino dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Sant Adria will face ADBA (#10) in Aviles in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maquinaria Ensino will play on the road against Oviedo and hope to win that game.
