Important game to mention about took place in Broni. Eighth ranked Umbertide (3-6) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Broni (2-7) 56-55 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 11-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Umbertide forced 20 Broni turnovers. Strangely Broni outrebounded Umbertide 35-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Antiesha Brown (178-92, college: N.Mexico) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Her fellow American import power forward Kierra Mallard (188-90, college: Texas Tech) chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Nigerian Ndidi Madu (188-89, college: Florida, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and American Amber Stokes (178-90, college: Ohio St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Umbertide moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Torino and Vigarano. Broni lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Umbertide will face league's leader Lucca at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Broni will play against the league's second-placed Familia Schio (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
