Regular Season Round 9: Macc.Rehovot - Hap.R/G Givat. 85-77

An interesting game took place in Rehovot where higher ranked Hap.R/G Givat. (5-4) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Maccabi Rehovot (4-5) 85-77 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hap.R/G Givat.. Maccabi Rehovot shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Marquis Addison (195-91, college: Missouri So., agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Yates is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was Yaniv Solomon (196-94) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Rashad Madden (196-92, college: Arkansas) added 22 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Four Hap.R/G Givat. players scored in double figures. Maccabi Rehovot moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Galil Elion and Hapoel G/A. Loser Hap.R/G Givat. dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Ironi K-A and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Maccabi Rehovot will meet league's leader Maccabi Raanana on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hap.R/G Givat. will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel B/S (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
