Regular Season Round 21: Osorno - CD Valdivia 87-72

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Osorno Basquetbol (17-6) defeated at home 6th ranked Deportivo Valdivia (10-9) 87-72. Osorno Basquetbol dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Deportivo Valdivia's 38. They outrebounded Deportivo Valdivia 42-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and international forward Juan Fontena (196-87) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Osorno Basquetbol players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Deportivo Valdivia's coach tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osorno Basquetbol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-6 record having just one point less than leader Los Leones. Deportivo Valdivia at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with CDE Talca. Osorno Basquetbol will play against AB Ancud (#5) at home in the next round. Deportivo Valdivia will play against Tinguiririca S.F. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
