Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Cartagena and 5th ranked Valencia-2 had identical 4-5 record. This time Cartagena used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Valencia 101-81 on Thursday night. The game without a history. Cartagena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Cartagena outrebounded Valencia-2 36-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Cartagena especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 68.8 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tylor Wimbish (201-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and forward Javier Santabarbara (197-95) who added 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cartagena (5-5) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group E, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Valencia-2 dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Cartagena will face league's leader Myrtia in Murcia in the next round and it may be the game of the week.
