Regular Season Round 10: Grindavik - Tindastoll 80-87

An interesting game for Tindastoll (8-2) which played road game in Grindavik against 4th ranked Grindavik (6-4). Third ranked Tindastoll managed to get a 7-point victory 87-80. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. Tindastoll shot 18 for 27 from the free-throw line, while Grindavik only scored 0 point from the stripe. British forward Cristopher Caird (199-89) notched 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) to lead the effort and American forward Antonio Hester (198-90, college: Mobile, AL) supported him with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Hester is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by American-Dominican guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech) did not help to save the game for Grindavik. Forward Thorsteinn Finnbogason (194-89) added 18 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Tindastoll have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with KR and Stjarnan. Loser Grindavik keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Tindastoll will meet at home Haukar (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Grindavik will play against Skallagrimur in Borgarnes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
