Regular Season Round 19: KTU - Delikatesas 79-85

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked KTU (9-10) lost to twelfth ranked Delikatesas (7-12) in Kaunas 79-85 on Friday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-79. Delikatesas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for forward Darius Griskenas (194-84) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds. Center Nerijus Barauskas (207-92) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Delikatesas players scored in double figures. Point guard Arturs Pelss (181-87) answered with 18 points and 5 assists and Jaunius Davniukas (197-95) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for KTU. KTU's coach Vytautas Pliauga rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Delikatesas moved-up to tenth place. Newly promoted KTU keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Delikatesas will face higher ranked Telsiai (#4) in Telsiu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
