Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Thor AK (5-5) and Keflavik (4-6), which took place in Akureyri. Higher ranked Thor AK lost at home to eleventh ranked Keflavik 77-89 on Friday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Thor AK. Keflavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward Amin Stevens (203-90, college: Florida A&M) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. The former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) contributed with 20 points and 7 assists for the winners. American guard George Beamon (193-91, college: Manhattan) replied with 28 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO) added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Thor AK. Keflavik moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Thor AK keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Keflavik will face IR (#8) in Reykjavik in the next round. Thor AK will play on the road against Snaefell in Stykkisholmur and hope to win that game.
