Very expected game when 16th ranked Marin (3-11) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Oviedo CB (10-4) 76-65 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-65. Forward Daniel Perez (200-69) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Manuel Rodriguez (192-91) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Oviedo CB's coach Carles Marco used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Power forward Javier Mugica (200-83) responded with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Tim Derksen (191-94, college: USF) scored 14 points. Oviedo CB keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Palencia and Gipuzkoa GBC. Marin lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth place with 11 games lost. Oviedo CB will face Palma (#11) in S'Arenal in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Marin will play on the road against CB Prat (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
