Host Kapshagay (3-2) defeated Almat.Legion (3-2) 87-82. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 34-26 Almat.Legion's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 87-82 at the end of the game. The former international swingman Konstantin Dvirniy (192-88) notched 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Daniil Seleznev (186-90) supported him with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 10 steals. Even 21 points and 9 rebounds by the former international center Vsevolod Fadeikin (206-85) did not help to save the game for Almat.Legion. International guard Yuriy Kozhanov (190-90) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Four Almat.Legion players scored in double figures. Almat.Legion's coach Nikolaj Tanaseychuk rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kapshagay will play against Kazygurt (#4) in Shymkent in the next round. Almat.Legion will play on the road against Tobol in Kostanay and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
