Date: December 10, 2016
Bottom-ranked MMCITE Brno managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Basketbal Svitavy 80-76. It was an exceptional evening for American center Stan Simpson (208-90, college: Memphis) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Kevin Ware (188-93, college: Georgia St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Hunter Mickelson (208-92, college: Kansas) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jiri Jelinek (203-87, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points respectively for Basketbal Svitavy in the defeat. Four Basketbal Svitavy players scored in double figures. Basketbal Svitavy's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. MMCITE Brno (4-11) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with NH Ostrava. Basketbal Svitavy lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. MMCITE Brno will meet at home higher ranked Prostejov (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Basketbal Svitavy will play against BK Lions Hradec (#9) in J.Hradec and hope to secure a win.
