Regular Season Round 12: Zornotza - Granada 75-72

Leading CB Granada (8-4) recorded its fourth loss in Amorebieta-Echano. Visitors were edged by eighth ranked Zornotza (7-5) 75-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CB Granada. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But CB Granada won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zornotza forced 19 CB Granada turnovers. Strangely CB Granada outrebounded Zornotza 41-25 including 31 on the defensive glass. CB Granada was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Vasilije Vucetic (209-96) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds and Norwegian Nikolas Skouen (193-90, college: Pepperdine, agency: Duran International) who added 15 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Jamaican forward Tyran De Lattibeaudiere (201-91, college: Lamar) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian forward Alejandro Bortolussi (202-89) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Five CB Granada players scored in double figures. CB Granada's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zornotza moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Valladolid and Cambados. CB Granada at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Zornotza will play against higher ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (#4) in Avila in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CB Granada will play at home against the league's second-placed Sammic ISB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
