Very expected game when 10th ranked Zaglebie (3-9) was smashed on the road by third ranked Polonia Bytom (10-3) 87-54 on Saturday. Polonia Bytom outrebounded Zaglebie 45-28 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Zaglebie's players. Forward Grzegorz Zadecki (195-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Tomasz Gembus (197-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Polonia Bytom players scored in double figures. Polonia Bytom's coach Radoslaw Kucinski felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) replied with 16 points and point guard Pawel Wolk-Jankowski (185-81) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Zaglebie. Polonia Bytom have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group C with 10-3 record behind leader AZS PK. Loser Zaglebie keeps the tenth place with nine games lost. Polonia Bytom will face AZS PCz (#13) in Czestochowa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zaglebie will play at home against AZS KU PO and hope to win that game.
