No shocking result in a game in Ourense where seventh ranked Calidus Gal.COB (6-3) won against 13th ranked Vigo VGO (1-9) 77-69 on Saturday. Vigo VGO trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 23-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 69-77 at the end of the game. Calidus Gal.COB dominated on the defensive end, holding Vigo VGO to just 7 points in first quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Deyan Colado (-96) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) who added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Calidus Gal.COB's coach Juan Norat used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American Johnathan Murphy (199-89, college: Columbus St.) with 20 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Lucas Vaquero (185-89) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Calidus Gal.COB moved-up to fifth place in Group A-B. Newly promoted Vigo VGO keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Calidus Gal.COB will face Gijon (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
