Regular Season Round 12: Weissenhorn - Wuerzburg 91-80

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Wuerzburg (3-9) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (8-4) 91-80 on Saturday. Weissenhorn Youngstars made 31-of-38 free shots (81.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Wuerzburg was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Austrian point guard David Kramer (191-97) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Hungarian point guard Marcell Pongo (194-97) who added 19 points and 4 steals during the contest. Four Weissenhorn Youngstars players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Vincent Sanford (190-90, college: Dayton) with 23 points and 9 steals and center Christoph Hackenesch (206-86) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Weissenhorn Youngstars have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in South, which they share with Bayer Giants. Loser Wuerzburg dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost.
