We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Lodz where 10th ranked TS Ostrovia (2-9) was defeated by eleventh ranked Widzew (2-8) 69-52 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American center Angela Beadle (190-93, college: Sam Houston St.) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Julia Drop (175-95) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Azia Capri Bishop (190-93, college: Kentucky) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and Klaudia Sosnowska (186-90, agency: Promotex) added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Widzew moved-up to tenth place. Newly promoted TS Ostrovia dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Widzew will meet at home higher ranked Basket Gdynia (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TS Ostrovia will play against Energa Torun and hope to secure a win.
