Regular Season Round 10: Battipaglia - Torino 74-63

Date: December 11, 2016
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Torino (3-7) and Battipaglia (2-8), which took place in Battipaglia. 8th ranked Torino lost to eleventh ranked Battipaglia in a road game 63-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Battipaglia. Torino managed to win fourth quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA, agency: Two Points) notched 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Romanian Florina Pascalau (193-82) supported her with 9 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds by American forward Ashley Bruner (183-91, college: S.Carolina, agency: Two Points) did not help to save the game for Torino. Croatian center Ivana Tikvic (189-94) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Battipaglia moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Broni. Loser Torino dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Umbertide and Vigarano. Battipaglia will meet higher ranked Ragusa (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Torino will play against Napoli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
