Regular Season Round 10: Anwil - PGE Turow 65-72

The most shocking disappointment of round 10 in the PLK was a home defeat of 4th ranked Anwil (7-4) to fifth ranked PGE Turow (8-3) 72-65. It ended the three-game winning streak of Anwil. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Anwil was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 29-18 charge of PGE Turow, which allowed them to win the game. International swingman Michal Michalak (197-93) scored 18 points to lead the charge for the winners and Ukrainian-American forward Denis Ikovlev (200-86, college: Nevada) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. PGE Turow's coach Matthias Fischer used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Croatian center Josip Sobin (203-89, agency: Alti Sport) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Michal Chylinski (196-86, agency: Interperformances) scored 15 points. PGE Turow moved-up to second place, which they share with MKS DG and Stelmet ZG. Anwil at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. PGE Turow is looking forward to face Trefl (#10) in Sopot in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Anwil will play on the road against Stelmet (#3) in Zielona Gora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
