Regular Season Round 12: Sammic ISB - L'Hospitalet 81-63

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Sammic ISB (8-4) beat 13th ranked L'Hospitalet (4-8) in Azpeitia 81-63. The game was mostly controlled by Sammic ISB. L'Hospitalet was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sammic ISB had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was swingman Ander Garcia (194-89) who scored 24 points. New Zealand center Mike Karena (208-93, college: Wright St.) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (196-89) who recorded 18 points and American forward Manny Ogunfolu (201-89, college: S.Indiana) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sammic ISB keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted L'Hospitalet dropped to the twelfth place with eight games lost. Sammic ISB's next round opponent will be league's leader CB Granada on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. L'Hospitalet will play against Blancos de Rueda (#6) in Valladolid and hope to win that game.
