Regular Season Round 11: Njardvik - Thor Thorl 88-104

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Thor Thorl and 10th ranked Njardvik had identical 4-6 record. But Njardvik was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Thorlakshofn 104-88 on Thursday night. The game without a history. Thor Thorl led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post, agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 24 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Emil Einarsson (196-94) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international Logi Gunnarsson (190-81) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Jeremy Atkinson (193-90, college: NC-Asheville) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four Thor Thorl and five Njardvik players scored in double figures. Thor Thorl (5-6) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Keflavik and Skallagrimur. Njardvik lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Thor Thorl will face higher ranked Grindavik (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Njardvik will play against Keflavik (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
