Regular Season Round 11: Snaefell - Thor AK 92-102

Bottom-ranked Snaefell (0-11) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 11th consecutive match to sixth ranked Thor AK (6-5) 102-92 on Thursday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Thor AK. Snaefell managed to win fourth quarter 27-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Thor AK looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard George Beamon (193-91, college: Manhattan) who scored 32 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Five Thor AK players scored in double figures. Canadian Sefton Barrett (196-83, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Blacktop Management) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds and Swedish forward Andre Michelsson (188-97) added 19 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Thor AK moved-up to fifth place. Snaefell lost their eleventh game in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. Thor AK will meet league's second-placed Stjarnan on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Snaefell will play against IR (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
