Regular Season Round 18: Correcaminos - Santos 83-88

There was no surprise in Ciudad Victoria where 10th ranked Correcaminos (3-16) were defeated by seventh ranked Santos (8-10) 88-83. The guests were ahead by 6 points but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 27-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. American forward B.J. West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Greg Smith (198-91, college: Colorado St.) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds by Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. American forward Kennedy Jones (201, college: Arlington Baptist) added 27 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Santos maintains seventh position with 8-10 record. Correcaminos lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Santos will have a break next round. Correcaminos will play again at home against Santos (#7) and hope to win that game.
