Regular Season Round 11: Faros - Psychiko 102-98

Very expected game in Keratsiniou where 10th ranked Psyhiko (4-7) was defeated by fourth ranked Faros (7-4) 102-98. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Faros made 27-of-31 charity shots (87.1 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Faros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. 26 personal fouls committed by Psyhiko helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Nikos Liakopoulos (188-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 4 assists. Guard Giannis Dimakos (192-94) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Faros' coach Giannis Tzimas allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) answered with 29 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Thomas Nikou (185-80) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Psyhiko. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Faros maintains fourth place with 7-4 record, which they share with Ethnikos. Psyhiko lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Faros' next round opponent will be Pagrati (#15) in Athens which should be an easy win for them. Psyhiko's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Amyntas Dafnis.
