Regular Season Round 4: Saigon H. - KL Dragons 65-72

Date: December 17, 2016
Malaysian KL Dragons' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after one consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Saigon, where they defeated Vietnamese Saigon Heat (0-3) 72-65 on Saturday. Saigon Heat trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 20-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 65-72 at the end of the game. American players dominated also this game. The winners were led by forward Marcus Melvin (206-82, college: N.Carolina St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and forward Skylar Spencer (208-94, college: San Diego St.) supported him with 18 points and 20 rebounds. KL Dragons' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds by Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) did not help to save the game for Saigon Heat. Guard Joshua Munzon (193, college: CS Los Angeles) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. KL Dragons maintains fourth position with 1-1 record. Loser Saigon Heat still closes the standings with three games lost. KL Dragons will meet league's leader Singapore Slingers on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Saigon Heat will play against Kaohsiung (#6) in Kaohsiung City and hopes to get finally their first victory.
