Regular Season Round 15: Samsun - Yalova Bld 98-72

Date: December 17, 2016
No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Samsun (9-6) smashed at home 14th ranked Yalova Bld (4-11) 98-72 on Saturday. Samsun made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Samsun outrebounded Yalova Bld 40-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Samsun looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville, agency: HMS) who scored 32 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Guinean-American forward Ousmane Drame (206-93, college: Quinnipiac) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Samsun players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Aubrey Coleman (193-87, college: Houston, agency: HMS) who recorded 23 points and American-Jamaican power forward Kyle Hunt (208-89, college: Oklahoma S&A) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Samsun maintains eighth place with 9-6 record. Yalova Bld at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Samsun will face Pertevniyal (#12) in Istanbul in the next round. Yalova Bld will play at home against Bandirma Kir. and hope to win that game.
