Very expected game when 11th ranked Palanga (7-13) lost to second ranked Nafta-Uni. (16-6) in Klaipeda 79-86 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 25-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Point guard Mindaugas Stasys (179-86) notched 33 points (!!!) and 8 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and point guard Benas Bagdonavicius (198-99) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Even 24 points and 5 rebounds by American point guard Jonathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) did not help to save the game for Palanga. Forward Aurimas Urbonas (198-93) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for lost side. Five Palanga players scored in double figures. Nafta-Uni. maintains second position with 16-6 record having just two points less than leader Suduva-Mantinga. Loser Palanga dropped to the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Nafta-Uni. will meet Delikatesas (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palanga will play against Perlas-MRU and hope to secure a win.
