There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Pielagos (4-7) edged on the road higher ranked Valladolid Univ. (7-4) 76-73 on Saturday. Valladolid Univ. trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 26-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 73-76 at the end of the game. Guard David Garcia (192-80) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Brais Gago (180-96) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Pielagos players scored in double figures. Forward Axel Castillo (194-88) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (perfect from the field making all six shots) and power forward Alvaro Encinas (202-94) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Valladolid Univ.'s coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pielagos moved-up to eighth place in Group A-A, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Valladolid Univ. dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
