Important game to mention about took place in Castro. Sixth ranked Espanol de Talca (13-9) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked CD Castro (12-14) 78-75 on Saturday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Dwight McCombs (203-89, college: Cent.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-86) who added 20 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and international center Rodrigo Madera (208-90) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four CD Castro players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Espanol de Talca have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with CD Valdivia. CD Castro lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. Espanol de Talca will play against higher ranked AB Ancud (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CD Castro will play against Universidad de Concepcion (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
