Regular Season Round 15: Sakarya BSB - Akhisar Bld 97-74

Leader Sakarya BSB delivered the fourteenth victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked Akhisar Bld (6-9) 97-74 in Sakaraya. Sakarya BSB dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Akhisar Bld's 30. They outrebounded Akhisar Bld 38-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Sakarya BSB players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Akhisar Bld's players. It was a good game for center Hakan Yapar (202-84) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Cenk Sekeroglu (203-91) answered with 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Muratcan Esen (195-90) added 17 points in the effort for Akhisar Bld. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sakarya BSB (14-1) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Akhisar Bld at the other side keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Sakarya BSB will play against Mamak DSI (#15) in Ankara in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Akhisar Bld will play at home against Turk Telekom (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
