Regular Season Round 11: Dinamo Tbilisi - Mgzavrebi 72-68

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#1) and Mgzavrebi (#8). Despite it looked like an easy game for Dinamo Tbilisi, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Guest Mgzavrebi challenged much higher ranked Dinamo Tbilisi giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by four points 72-68. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mgzavrebi won third quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mgzavrebi was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Ilia Londaridze (205-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Mikheil Berishvili (204-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Avtandili Lominashvili (204-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Brandon Peters (188, college: Talladega, agency: Haylett Sports) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Mgzavrebi. Dinamo Tbilisi (10-0) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. Mgzavrebi at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Cactus Tbilisi.
