Regular Season Round 13: Guadalajara - Real Canoe 65-61

Top ranked Real Canoe (11-2) recorded its second loss on the court of twelfth ranked CB Guadalajara on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by CB Guadalajara 65-61. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Real Canoe. Real Canoe was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of CB Guadalajara, which allowed them to win the game. Power forward Rafael Molina (202-89) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Raul Lazaro (195-87) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Molina is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four CB Guadalajara players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Javier Alvarez (196-90) responded with 8 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Ruben Martinez (196-85) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. CB Guadalajara (4-7) moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Lanzarote. Loser Real Canoe still keeps top position with two games lost. CB Guadalajara will meet Rivas (#16) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Real Canoe will play against Gran Canaria B (#6) and hope to secure a win.
