Bottom-ranked Universidad Catolica managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the series of five consecutive losses on Sunday night. This time they edged ninth-ranked Puerto Montt in Santiago 75-73. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Brandon Crawford (201-84, college: Albion) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward John Dickson (198-90, college: Sacramento St.) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Puerto Montt's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Universidad Catolica maintains twelfth place with 6-21 record. Loser Puerto Montt keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Universidad Catolica will meet higher ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Puerto Montt will play against CD Castro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
